The ethos Foundation has published a 120 page study (In French or German) with

the aim of defining the position of an investor driven by the concept of

sustainable development, on the subject of genetically modified organisms (GMO)

in crops.

The study is divided into two parts : a basic text covering the

scope of the study, the issues at stake and ethos’ position on GMOs, and an

annexe dealing with the more technical aspects of GMOs, their uses as well as

the institutional framework which governs them.

ethos, as a long term

investor, refers to the principle of precaution in its position on the issue of

GMOs in the agro-chemical and food-processing industries. It distinguishes

between these two sectors taking account of their specificities in terms of

impact, roles and responsibilities in the promotion of GMOs.
